The Dambaza family has dismissed reports on social media that Bishop Berry Dambaza’s suicide was over alleged adultery by his wife.
Family spokesperson Tonderayi Ian Chimhuwa said the fake news was spread by someone who wanted to sensationalize onlookers at the scene.
“When I got there police were already attending the scene and there was an alleged suicide note which we are still to receive from anyone who may have accessed it.
“We did not get any information from police who are investigating the matter and the body was taken for postmortem.
“We are eagerly waiting to know what transpired and as a family we do not believe that our relative committed suicide.
Chimhuwa rubbished the adultery rumors to HMetro
“I want to hastily clarify on infidelity allegations circulating on social media that they are false.
“On the day in question Pastor Dambaza’s wife was attending to her ailing mother in-law since she does not work on Mondays.
Pastor Dambaza mother also passed away on Tuesday.
“We had to rush Pastor’s wife to a hospital where she was shortly admitted and discharged and I want to believe it was because of the false allegations that circulated soon after the tragedy.
“The rumour is very disgusting and traumatizing that it affected the whole family considering that we have another shock of the death of Pastor’s mother,” said Chimhuwa.
