BREAKING: Mystery Surrounds Sikhala’s Whereabouts After Being Prowled By CIOs Near Zambia
Mystery surrounds the whereabouts of Zengeza MP Job Sikhala, after he was reportedly spotted near the Zambian border in Vic Falls today.
Sikhala who is currently on the run, has vowed that the state must not be allowed to abuse civilians’ rights. He says people have inalienable freedoms that are sacred and should not be breached as they make a call for a corruption free nation.
Sikhala is the famous MP who at the young age of 25, personally moved to broker a proposed deal with the Zimbabwe Defence Forces top generals, so that they accept Morgan Tsvangirai’s Presidency in 2002. He was at the time, the secretary for Defence Intelligence And Security.
The development comes after state agents descended onto his house earlier this week when journalist Hopewell Chino was arrested together with Transform Zimbabwe leader Jacob Ngarivhume, incidents that happened on the same day.
Three days later, Hon Sikhala briefly appeared on ZimEye to encourage Zimbabweans on their resolve against corruption. The whole program, part of a series, lasted an hour.
A second program scheduled for Friday night was cancelled.
In the latest development, and as Zimbabweans expect him to appear on his Saturday night program, Sikhala has been reported missing.
A senior spokesperson for the MDC Alliance, Stephen Chuma announced early Saturday morning saying:
“Job Sikhala just seen in Victoria Falls; He was detected by State security agencies when he was the first to check into Zimbabwe today early in the morning at 6am from Livingstone in Zambia.
“He walked into Zimbabwe and was intercepted by 3 vehicles soon after the bridge into Zimbabwe.
“The vehicles took off at high speed. These were a brand new Toyota Fortuner 2.8 litre, an lsuzu double cab with Zimbabwe registration number and a Mercedes Benz ML.
“The vehicles were seen taking the Binga Rd.”
