Bookkeeper – ZIMLEF


A Bookkeeper is sought to provide full accounting services to a group of small businesses.

Duties And Responsibilities

a) Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations for all business units.
b) Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.
c) Set up financial systems, processes, and operating procedures relevant to the efficient functioning of the businesses as required bearing in mind all statutory requirements.
d) Preparation of financial statements and management accounts for all business units.
e) Cash flow management
f) Oversee clerks of the different business units
g) Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
h) Report to management regarding the finances of establishment.
i) Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
j) Develop, implement, modify, and document record-keeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
k) Prepare forms and manuals for accounting personnel, and direct their work activities
l) Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, and maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
m) Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies, and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts.

Qualifications And Experience

The ideal incumbent will ideally be the holder of a Degree in Accounting/CIS, ACCA, CIMA and possess strong experience to be able to competently carry out the duties and responsibilities stated above.
