A Bulawayo woman was robbed of her belongings and cash all worth over 8 000 Pula after criminals trailed her car using a Honda fit until her car tyre burst.
This was heard when Dumisani Mugande (33) of Nketa appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Lizwe Jamela charged with robbery.
He will be back in court on February 26.
On December 11, 2019 at 11pm, Sikhanyisiwe Mundandi (42) of Park-lands was coming from Botswana when she disembarked from the bus and loaded her luggage into her car.
When driving home in the company of her daughter and son, Mugande and his alleged accomplices followed Mundandi using a Honda Fit.
It is alleged that while driving to evade the criminals Mundandi’s car hit a pothole and the tyre burst forcing the car to stop. It is then that the criminals got hold of them and robbed them of various property and cash before driving away.
A report made to the police led to the arrest of Mugande.
